Flight Operatinos Controller

▪ Processing landing, overfly and block permits, Slots and PPR approvals for VVIP/VIP/Private and
Commercial/Cargo/Ambulance/Ferry flights through the designated Civil Aviation Authorities or
appointed local handling companies in prescribed countries.
▪ Advising and guiding the clients on their flight clearance requirements.
▪ Monitoring the ground and flight activities to ensure the departures/arrivals OTP is achieved to avoid slot
penalties and stand issues. Ensure that airport arrival slots compliance is achieved at all times. SCR
requests dispatching in advance in order comply with the airport slot coordinator.
▪ Evaluating and understanding the operational circumstances of the airports by utilizing weather forecasts,
METARs and NOTAMs. Advising and guiding clients regarding airport restrictions, NOTAMs, parking
constraints. Taking action for conditions which affect the ability to operate safely and punctually.
▪ Coordinating specific Flight Crew requests in a timely and efficient manner (catering, coordinating GSE
equipment required, providing updated WX reports, arranging refueling).
▪ Working effectively with internal and external customers to provide safe and efficient flight support.
▪ Understanding and minimizing the financial, reputational and operational costs involved to each flight
event and ensure that resources are utilized in the most efficient manner.
▪ Liaising with a variety of stakeholders throughout the network in order to reach balanced operational
decisions and ensure any changes are initiated effectively and communicated to the relevant parties.

Senior Operations Controller

SATCOM, SELCALL, ACARS (AIRCOM), VHF if necessary.
▪ Monitoring Customer requests, promptly mobilizing staff to attend to clients requests in a timely and
efficient manner.
▪ Moving into a Business-as-Usual state; ensuring that contingency planning and disruption planning is
adopted into everyday working practices and being in a constant state of operational readiness and
ability.
▪ Assisting OCC Manager in investigating all complaints and issues relating to the Department, responding to
these issues accordingly and promptly.
▪ Address and respond to all safety and security risks which occur within the Business in line with the
company Emergency Response Plan.

Operations Controller

▪ Maintaining Air Astana’s schedule integrity at times when there is disruption (delays, diversions, rerouting, cancellations etc.). All the major stakeholders within the airline are represented in order to
improve the speed and quality of recovery decisions and to communicate those to the service delivery
units across Almaty/Astana Airports and Overseas.
▪ Evaluating and understanding the operational circumstances of the fleet (narrow and wide body aircraft)
and airports by utilizing weather forecasts, METAR’s and NOTAMS. Take action for conditions which affect

▪ Managing and coordinating the ad-hoc activities which Air Astana performs including the operation of
charter flights (passenger), C-check, tech stop flights, new delivery aircraft, additional services for the

▪ Evaluating the planned operation during the 3-day window, seeking opportunities to “right-size” the fleet
against the network and ensure the most efficient delivery of the operation and best utilization of aircraft
and crew resources prior to entering the live phase.
▪ Liaising with the flight dispatch, crew control, ground services and maintenance departments.
▪ Crew duty monitoring and flight support to ensure safe flight operations in adherence to KZ CAC and PF
regulations.
▪ Reviewing, regulating and terminating flights to ensure safety of PF flights in the most economical
manner.
